WAS This Weekend – First Saturday Edition

March already? You bet! And it is First Saturday Open Studios this Saturday from 12-5PM. Special events and sales this weekend include:

  • Girl Scout cookies will be for sale in the A-mill loading dock area on the 2nd floor. Stop by and get your sugar fix!
  • Lush Beads in studio A-205 will have select beaded jewelry on sale for 25-30% off.
  • Migration Goods in studio A-303 will have samples and retired designs at up to 40% off! Help pay some of her dog’s vet bills!

Light and ColorAfter Open Studios, stick around for the opening reception of Light and Color on the Edges at The Loading Dock Gallery on the 2nd floor. This show features digital photography by John Wren. The reception runs from 5-7PM and light refreshments will be served.


Near and Far - Laurie SimkoOpening this weekend at the Concord Art Association: Near & Far, featuring work by WAS painter Laurie Simko. Stop by the opening reception on Sunday from 2-4PM! From the show website: “Laurie’s images (Near) celebrate the lush life of the earth’s flora found in the streams, marshes, bogs and woods around us. Her focus is a microview of the natural world with its rhythmic flow of vibrant colors, textures and random shapes.”

Stopping by the New England Home Show this weekend? Head over to the Artisan Craft Pavilion and see work by WAS fiber artist Tarja Cockell. The home show is at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. The hours are Friday 12-9, Saturday 10-9, and Sunday 10-6.

The SOWA Winter Market is happening again this Saturday from 11-4 in Boston’s South End. See work by jewelry designer Heather Wang and clothing designer Cinderloop.
