February 27th – March 30th, 2019
Opening Reception : March 2, 2019
The Loading Dock Gallery is approaching the month of March with an adventurous spirit! Fiber and Textile artists, hailing from New England, explore materials and concepts that are so inspired, unique, and attractive to the senses, the exhibition had to be entitled Fiberlicious!
Experience the joy of fiber-play that visually and tactilely push artistic boundaries. Ponder artistic pieces that challenge the senses utilizing fiber/textile inspired 2D, 3D, video or digitally-generated pieces and wearables, often offering commentary and are brilliantly unexpected.
Visit the gallery’s website for more information and to shop online.
Join the Loading Dock Arts, Inc for a fundraising event! Saturday March 16th on the A Mill Loading Dock there will be a Gem Show from noon until 5pm. Gemstone dealer, Sophie Bersosvsky, will be on hand identifying your heirloom mystery stones and answer questions on stones or gems in general. Sophie has a wide selection of gemstones for purchase (cabochons, beads and pearls). Karen Christians, from Studio 506, will give on ongoing demos on Lapidary techniques throughout the afternoon. She will show how cabochons are created and the work involved highlighted in the gemstone sale.
This event is a fundraiser for Loading Dock Arts’ Education Committee. In support of LDE’s mission, a percentage gemstone sales will be donated to the education committee. Sophie has made an additional donation of a string of pearls, a hand cut lapis lazuli flower, and round labradorite beads that will be part of our raffle.
