UP-CYCLE, WEAVE & STITCH USING MEDITATION AS THE GUIDE TO RESOLVE VISUAL PIECES.
Untangling Self is a fiber focused art-making course that will introduce students to the meditative nature of working with textiles.
Students will be instructed in sewing, weaving, embroidering, and painting on fabric. They will also be led through a variety of audio and kinesthetic activities to evoke meaning and connection through the process of creating. This combination of media and meditation is intended to help students navigate their personal journey as artists and humans.
Required materials: Mixed Media Sketchbook.
Suggested materials: Embroidery hoops, embroidery needles, DMC variety pack of floss, bits of clothing or fabric, the imagery of interest.
Ages: 13 – 19
