SUMMARY:An Afternoon with Maddy Rosenberg
DESCRIPTION:MADDY ROSENBERG shares insight into her career as both an internationally recognized artist and curator. Ms. Rosenberg works in several media including oil painting\, artist’s books\, printmaking\, drawing\, toy theatre and installation. Her work appears in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art\, Tate Museum\, Fogg Museum\, Yale University and the Victoria and Albert Museum among dozens of other. \nAcclaimed for her international curatorial work\, she approaches curating as an extension of her art practice. In 2009\, Rosenberg opened CENTRAL BOOKING\, a multi-disciplinary art space in Brooklyn focusing on artist’s books and exhibitions on art & science. The gallery has since grown out of its four walls into a nomadic curatorial endeavor between Ms. Rosenberg and a variety of collaborators such as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Library. DESCRIPTION:John Francis Designs Carving Class Series:  In this class we will carve and shape a wooden grain scoop. We will learn to use a mallet and gouge\, carving gouges\, knives\, drawknife\, and spokeshave. We will also be using a bandsaw to cut the spoon handle. This is a great intro to carving class\, a wide variety of tools and topics will be covered and you leave with your own hand carved hardwood scoop! \nBeginners are welcome! \n18+ only please.
