DESCRIPTION:We have enjoyed bringing art to you virtually during this past winter\, but we greatly miss all of you. With the weather warming up and Massachusetts moving to Phase 4 soon\, we are happy to announce the return of our Outdoor Art Markets. A fun and safe in-person art experience\, featuring some of your favorite Western Avenue artists and makers. This will be a more intimate and easier to navigate event than our usual Open Studios events but promises to be a great and safe event. This market will have over 30 of our artists and makers vending. Join us at The Creative Soul of Lowell and support your favorite local artists. This event will take place in our lofts garden parking lot\, on the west end of our campus. Park your vehicle in our main parking lot and walk over to the market. \nFood Truck: Empanada Dada \nFeatured Artist Vendors: List coming soon! \nCovid-19 Guidelines:\n– Guests who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been instructed to quarantine by a medical professional should not attend.\n– All guests must wear a mask or face covering at all times.\n– Please maintain a six-foot distance from others.\n– We will have hand sanitation stations throughout the market space.\n– There will be no public restrooms during this event. \nWe will post more updates as the event gets closer\, so stay tuned in. \nRain Date: 4/4

SUMMARY:Invocation Of Place Show at Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:This April\, representation\, and abstraction meet to create an Invocation of Place. Priscilla Levesque paints landscapes in the pointillist style\, a technique pioneered during the late 19th century by Georges Seurat. With meticulous detail\, she builds shapes from small dots of color.\nNoel Soucy creates abstracts using acrylics and alcohol inks. Her work is organic\, full of energy. Swirling forms fill her canvases inspired by the ebb and flow of forms found in nature. Noel uses her artmaking to stay positive and healthy during difficult times.

SUMMARY:Sketchbook to Large Scale
DESCRIPTION:This six class course will run throughout the second half of spring semester.  \n  \n“Magnify Your Work: Sketchbook to Large Scale\,” will take students through the process of transforming personal ideas into large format pieces. Students will complete a series of three pieces that are all derived from the practice of sketchbooking. Throughout this coursework\, new styles and themes will be introduced. Students will explore through color\, line\, and especially scale how to bring sketchbook concepts to life. Working big encourages the movement of body\, intertwining personal energy with the process of making with meaning. It’s all about the journey in this class\, be prepared to get zen. \n  \n  \nThis program is open to ALL STUDENTS  who love to create and those who seek more guidance to grow artistically\, regardless of portfolio requirements.  \n(17-Adults) \n  \nSaturday Afternoons: 1:30-4pm: \nInstructor: Courtney Wilson \nFebruary 27 \nMarch 6\, 13\, 27 \nApril 3\, 10 \n  \nSketchbook required\, a basic art kit will be availble for purchase at the studio for a cost $25. Materials can be purchased outside of studio as well; kit includes a sketchbook\, paint saver container\, basic drawing supplies and paintbrushes.  \n  \nDue to new health and safety concerns\, we ask that students come to class with a mask. We will provide hand sanitizer and wipe down working areas with disinfectant before and after class. Shields and limited class sizes will also be implemented during this time. We ask that if your child or a household family member does not feel well to be open and communicate with us about your child missing class as a precautionary measure. Restaurant rules apply for snacks and drinks… students will be allowed to eat and drink at their work space but must wear masks when traveling through the studio.
