SUMMARY:July Summer Open Art Studios
DESCRIPTION:Support local and enjoy the best of both worlds this summer. With our traditional indoor Open Studios happening inside and our Outdoor Art Market happening outside\, there is something for everyone. So come join us for our July Open Studios event on July 2nd\, from noon until 5 pm as we celebrate summer!\n\nFoods truck of the day: TBD\n\nThis month the Loading Dock Gallery hosts a show titled Who We Are: Celebrating Diversity. With an artist reception from 3 pm\, until 5 pm and exhibit opening remarks by Lowell Mayor Sokhary Chau at 3 pm.\n\nCovid-19 Guidelines:\n– Face coverings/masks are not required but recommended since some studios and businesses may require them for admission into their space.\n– Guests who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been instructed to quarantine by a medical professional should not attend.\n– We will have hand sanitation stations throughout the building.\n\nThere is no charge for this event. This event is dog-friendly. We just ask that you keep your pup on a leash.

SUMMARY:Who We Are at Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Loading Dock Gallery presents Who We Are: Celebrating Diversity. A.O. Scott wrote\, “It is the mission of art to free our minds.” Who We Are showcases art from Greater Lowell\, focusing on the often over-looked\, including the BIPOC\, LGBT+\, and non-binary communities. \nThis exhibit is juried by Gwendolyn Lanier who received her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University. She is a member of Attleboro Arts Museum and Brush Gallery\, and teaches at Essex Art Center in Lawrence. MA. \nWho We Are: Celebrating Diversity joins Celebrating Diversity: Lowell Has It\, a festival of workshops\, music\, dance\, food and film hosted by Loading Dock Education. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lowell Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency.”\nExhibit opening remarks by Lowell Mayor Sokhary Chau Saturday\, July 2nd at 3pm. \n​Reception 3-5pm\, Saturday\, July 2\, as part of Western Avenue Studios’ monthly open house\, noon-5pm.
