Gallery members present a body of work that invites the viewer to reimagine experience through masterful interaction of imagery and color. \nBackground/Colors explores the energy of our worlds: inherited\, perceived\, and imagined. Artwork ranges from traditional fine craft through realism to abstract\, in paint\, photography\, wood\, and fiber. \nCityscapes explore the life lived now\, revealing energy hidden in the commonplace. Photographs and paintings celebrate the New England coast in its many moods.  Fine woodwork and fiber wall art expand on craft traditions developed over generations. \nBackground/Colors also includes abstract work\, from pop to contemporary. Strong pattern and texture combine with spontaneous and imagined imagery\, in photographs\, collagraphs\, digital arts\, and acrylic on carved bas-relief. \nBackground Colors runs February 2-27\, 2022 at Loading Dock Gallery\, 122 Western Avenue\, in Lowell\, MA.  Loading Dock Gallery is open noon to 5:30pm\, Wednesday through Saturday\, and noon-4pm on Sundays. The show offers a variety of art mediums\, with pieces inspired by different aspects of Black History Month. \nThis show runs from February 1st through March 15th. \nFor more information or to purchase any art pieces\, please contact Teo Pique at originalartbyteo@gmail.com \nCovid-19 Guidelines:\n– Face coverings/masks are not required but recommended since some studios and businesses may require them for admission into their space.\n– Guests who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been instructed to quarantine by a medical professional should not attend.\n– We will have hand sanitation stations throughout the building.\nThere is no charge for this event. DESCRIPTION:The holidays may be behind us but Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Come find your someone special something special at this month’s Open Studios. Want to avoid crowds? You can start your day off at Tiny Arms Coffee which opens at 9 am and wander the halls of our Studios building. Our Studios building is filled with so much art\, it’s like exploring an ever-changing art museum. \nFood truck of the day: Lou’s Deli \nThis month the Loading Dock Gallery hosts a member show titled “Background/Colors”. More details coming soon. \nCovid-19 Guidelines:\n– Face coverings that cover the nose and mouth are required for all individuals\, regardless of vaccination status\, aged two years and above. In accordance with City of Lowell indoor mask regulations.\n– Guests who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been instructed to quarantine by a medical professional should not attend.\n– We will have hand sanitation stations throughout the building. \nThere is no charge for this event. DESCRIPTION:This Mini Gallery Art Show can be found in our 4th Floor Mini Gallery\, near studio 499. \nArtists Nicole Chouinard Brunelle\, Bill Bradbury\, Steve Muchiri\, Diana Zipeto\, Crissie Murphy\, Cassandra Merry\, and Teo Pique have teamed up to put on a special Mini Gallery show honoring Black History Month. The show offers a variety of art mediums\, with pieces inspired by different aspects of Black History Month. \nThis show runs from February 1st through March 15th. \nFor more information or to purchase any art pieces\, please contact Teo Pique at originalartbyteo@gmail.com \nCovid-19 Guidelines:\n– Face coverings/masks are not required but recommended since some studios and businesses may require them for admission into their space.\n– Guests who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been instructed to quarantine by a medical professional should not attend.\n– We will have hand sanitation stations throughout the building.\nThere is no charge for this event. This event is dog-friendly. We just ask that you keep your pup on a leash.

SUMMARY:Background/Colors Art Show at Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:This February\, the Loading Dock Gallery presents Background/Colors\, a show which explores setting\, sensation\, and heritage. Gallery members present a body of work that invites the viewer to reimagine experience through masterful interaction of imagery and color. \nBackground/Colors explores the energy of our worlds: inherited\, perceived\, and imagined. Artwork ranges from traditional fine craft through realism to abstract\, in paint\, photography\, wood\, and fiber. \nCityscapes explore the life lived now\, revealing energy hidden in the commonplace. Photographs and paintings celebrate the New England coast in its many moods.  Fine woodwork and fiber wall art expand on craft traditions developed over generations. \nBackground/Colors also includes abstract work\, from pop to contemporary. Strong pattern and texture combine with spontaneous and imagined imagery\, in photographs\, collagraphs\, digital arts\, and acrylic on carved bas-relief. \nBackground Colors runs February 2-27\, 2022 at Loading Dock Gallery\, 122 Western Avenue\, in Lowell\, MA.  Loading Dock Gallery is open noon to 5:30pm\, Wednesday through Saturday\, and noon-4pm on Sundays. Join the artists for a reception 3-5pm\, Saturday\, February 5\, during Western Avenue Studios monthly open house\, which runs from noon-5pm. \nLoading Dock Gallery is part of Loading Dock Arts\, Inc.\, a 501c3.
