SUMMARY:Working In The Grace Of Solitude – Mini Gallery Show
DESCRIPTION:“My work\, over the past two years\, has in-deed been prepared and responds to having to work in SOLITUDE\, first\, of course due to the various public health mandates but also due to the normal open studio events having been suspended in the Lofts. During this period\, I have produced three seres\, these are THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE\, DESSPOIR\, and INTERRUPTION. Images from THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE series were recently published in The Circle Magazine (Lyon\, France) but no others have been shown locally in any venue. The title – THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE (not isolation) proposes that I have found working in solitude can be an experience of positive thinking and not necessarily an experience of despair. However\, the DESSPOIR and INTERRUPTION SERIES respond to a less positive period. DESCRIPTION:Elena Gorodensky and Margarita Krylova invite us to DAYDREAM this May at Loading Dock Gallery. DAYDREAM offers paths to understanding through friendship and imagination. \nElena Gorodensky views painting as a search for awareness. Visual poems\, her paintings are intricate\, flowing\, reflective. Line becomes metaphor. Colors surprise. Inspired by both everyday life and fairytales\, Gorodensky experiments with visual language\, combining ink\, acrylics\, watercolors\, and oils. Gorodensky holds an MFA from Moscow Stroganoff Academy of Art and Design. She lives in Acton\, MA. \nMargarita Krylova sees the world as a magical place. She paints with saturated color and uses surreal\, often symbolic\, imagery\, exploring what lies between the real and the imagined. Krylova paints primarily in oils. She also combines ink painting with encaustic. Krylova has degrees in art from School of the Museum of Fine Arts and in biology from Tufts. She lives in Tewksbury MA. SUMMARY:Portfolio Development - Concept & Personal Voice
DESCRIPTION:Portfolio Development is for students who are serious about making art and those who plan to build visual portfolios for private school admission or college level admission. Serious students of any age can build a portfolio\, as it is a body of work that shows an understanding of drawing\, painting\, composition\, and concept. Students will be encouraged to explore new techniques\, strengthen their understanding of mediums\, and develop conceptual work that is meaningful to them. \nThis program is open to ALL STUDENTS  who love to create and those who seek more guidance to grow artistically\, regardless of portfolio requirements. \n(ages 13 and up) \nInstructor: Courtney Wilson \nCo-instructor: Maritza Lezama \n  \n*Please inform us in advance of any food allergies. \n  \nDue to new health and safety concerns\, we ask that students come to class with a mask. We will provide hand sanitizer and wipe down working areas with disinfectant before and after class. Shields and limited class sizes will also be implemented during this time. We ask that if your child or a household family member does not feel well to be open and communicate with us about your child missing class as a precautionary measure. Restaurant rules apply for snacks and drinks… students will be allowed to eat and drink at their work space but must wear masks when traveling through the studio. \n

SUMMARY:Working In The Grace Of Solitude – Mini Gallery Show
DESCRIPTION:“My work\, over the past two years\, has in-deed been prepared and responds to having to work in SOLITUDE\, first\, of course due to the various public health mandates but also due to the normal open studio events having been suspended in the Lofts. During this period\, I have produced three seres\, these are THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE\, DESSPOIR\, and INTERRUPTION. Images from THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE series were recently published in The Circle Magazine (Lyon\, France) but no others have been shown locally in any venue. The title – THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE (not isolation) proposes that I have found working in solitude can be an experience of positive thinking and not necessarily an experience of despair. However\, the DESSPOIR and INTERRUPTION SERIES respond to a less positive period. The proposed show would use the space available on the 4th Floor Min-gallery to present a sample of images from all three series.” – Garry Harley \n  \nCovid-19 Guidelines:\n– Face coverings/masks are not required but recommended since some studios and businesses may require them for admission into their space.\n– Guests who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or have been instructed to quarantine by a medical professional should not attend.\n– We will have hand sanitation stations throughout the building.\n\nThere is no charge for this event. Inspired by both everyday life and fairytales\, Gorodensky experiments with visual language\, combining ink\, acrylics\, watercolors\, and oils. Gorodensky holds an MFA from Moscow Stroganoff Academy of Art and Design. She lives in Acton\, MA. \nMargarita Krylova sees the world as a magical place. She paints with saturated color and uses surreal\, often symbolic\, imagery\, exploring what lies between the real and the imagined. Krylova paints primarily in oils. She also combines ink painting with encaustic. Krylova has degrees in art from School of the Museum of Fine Arts and in biology from Tufts. She lives in Tewksbury MA. SUMMARY:Daydream at Loading Dock Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Elena Gorodensky and Margarita Krylova invite us to DAYDREAM this May at Loading Dock Gallery. DAYDREAM offers paths to understanding through friendship and imagination. \nElena Gorodensky views painting as a search for awareness. Visual poems\, her paintings are intricate\, flowing\, reflective. Line becomes metaphor. Colors surprise. Inspired by both everyday life and fairytales\, Gorodensky experiments with visual language\, combining ink\, acrylics\, watercolors\, and oils. Gorodensky holds an MFA from Moscow Stroganoff Academy of Art and Design. She lives in Acton\, MA. \nMargarita Krylova sees the world as a magical place. She paints with saturated color and uses surreal\, often symbolic\, imagery\, exploring what lies between the real and the imagined. Krylova paints primarily in oils. She also combines ink painting with encaustic. Krylova has degrees in art from School of the Museum of Fine Arts and in biology from Tufts. She lives in Tewksbury MA. Her studio is at Western Ave Studios\, Lowell\, MA \nFriends as well as colleagues\, both artists teach at Alma Mater Studio in Lexington MA. \nDAYDREAM runs May 4-29\, 2022\, at Loading Dock Gallery\, 122 Western Avenue\, Lowell\, MA. The gallery is open noon-5:30pm\, Wednesday through Saturday\, and noon-4pm on Sundays. SUMMARY:Working In The Grace Of Solitude – Mini Gallery Show
DESCRIPTION:“My work\, over the past two years\, has in-deed been prepared and responds to having to work in SOLITUDE\, first\, of course due to the various public health mandates but also due to the normal open studio events having been suspended in the Lofts. During this period\, I have produced three seres\, these are THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE\, DESSPOIR\, and INTERRUPTION. Images from THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE series were recently published in The Circle Magazine (Lyon\, France) but no others have been shown locally in any venue. The title – THE GRACE OF SOLITUDE (not isolation) proposes that I have found working in solitude can be an experience of positive thinking and not necessarily an experience of despair. However\, the DESSPOIR and INTERRUPTION SERIES respond to a less positive period.
