DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate FALL! On Saturday October 5th and Sunday October 6th from noon until 5pm each day and the artists will have their doors open to share their creative passions with you. Explore our repurposed mill buildings filled with locally made artwork\, handmade crafts\, photography\, jewelry\, works in wood\, glass and metal. We’re the second largest artist community in the US – right here in Lowell and we’ve got art. And a coffee pop-up. And a brewery. And food trucks too. Pretty cool. \nSaturday features the Loading Dock Gallery’s show reception from 4-6pm.  This is the New England Juried Poetry Convergence called “Repetition\, Replication\, Variation” and will feature a poetry slam on the A Mill Loading Dock. DESCRIPTION:On the first Saturday of every month\, Western Avenue Studios & Western Avenue Lofts artists open their doors to the public. Come take a peek inside their work spaces and see for yourself why Western Avenue is the creative soul of Lowell. \nWhat’s amazing about WA is the variety of art in the community and the backgrounds of our artists.  Would you like to see art by an Army vet turned Artist? Stop by Loft 214 and talk to Amy Roberts about her creative process and the inspiration for her work – like these beautiful ships you see here \nWhat else happens on an OS Saturday? The Loading Dock Gallery hosts its’ monthly reception for the gallery’s new show which is an invitational hosted by artist Tracy Levesque – Orbs: Spheres of Unity – from 4-6pm. Navigation Brewing will open at 2pm. And a food truck will be ready for action for lunch and on into the evening. \nWestern Avenue is a complex of four buildings of artist studios and loft residences that number over 330 artists. We think that makes us the second largest artist community in the US – right here in Lowell MA!! \nThis is a free event AND we have plenty of free parking.

SUMMARY:An Afternoon with Maddy Rosenberg
DESCRIPTION:MADDY ROSENBERG shares insight into her career as both an internationally recognized artist and curator. Ms. Rosenberg works in several media including oil painting\, artist’s books\, printmaking\, drawing\, toy theatre and installation. Her work appears in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art\, Tate Museum\, Fogg Museum\, Yale University and the Victoria and Albert Museum among dozens of other. \nAcclaimed for her international curatorial work\, she approaches curating as an extension of her art practice. In 2009\, Rosenberg opened CENTRAL BOOKING\, a multi-disciplinary art space in Brooklyn focusing on artist’s books and exhibitions on art & science. The gallery has since grown out of its four walls into a nomadic curatorial endeavor between Ms. Rosenberg and a variety of collaborators such as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Library.
