Artist Name: Sandrine Colson

My mission is to create one-of-a-kind works of art that celebrate the uniqueness within each of us. Originally from Provence, France, and now based in Boston, Massachusetts, I have been creating art throughout my life. With an initial background in science and engineering, I bring curiosity, experimentation, and an appreciation for structure and natural forms to my artistic practice. My work is inspired by the beauty, movement, colors, textures, and emotions I discover in the world around me.

Working across jewelry, painting, and mixed media, I continuously explore new techniques, materials, and forms of expression. My jewelry combines wire, glass beads, gemstones, pearls, polymer clay, enamel, and occasionally recycled or found objects, transforming diverse elements into highly stylized wearable art. In my paintings and mixed-media compositions, I layer acrylics, paper, and three-dimensional materials to create richly textured, abstract works that reference natural forms and movement. Whether through careful planning or spontaneous improvisation, I embrace what I call “organized chaos”—the unexpected relationships between materials, colors, and shapes that give each piece its character.

My creative process is an ongoing journey of discovery, allowing stories and ideas to emerge through experimentation. I invite viewers to bring their own imagination and experiences to my work, completing the stories I begin. Since 2013, I have exhibited my art in solo and juried group exhibitions in galleries and museums across the United States and internationally. Through every creation, I strive to make imagination visible and offer art that is as individual, expressive, and distinctive as the people who experience it.
