February Open Studios at Western Avenue
Get inspired with this month’s installment of our new lecture series!
Start your day by getting inspired. Loading Dock Arts is hosting their new lecture series at 11am, Western Avenue Inspires. This month’s guest speakers are Hailey Moschella & Sarah Lovasco of The Switchboard. Realizing their shared passion for community involvement through creative arts, Hailey Moschella and Sarah LoVasco founded The Switchboard in Haverhill MA in 2017. The Switchboard is a gallery and “gathering space that seeks to unite, inspire, and support the creative community by providing entrepreneurial and experience-based opportunities through art and music based programming.”
In addition to presenting exhibitions monthly, The Switchboard also offers two to four week residencies that provide artists with temporary studio space and a public-facing showcase for their creative process. Hailey and Sarah will discuss their inspiring journey developing and running The Switchboard gallery.

Come in from the cold and get to know Western Avenue’s 300+ artists, during our second Open Studios of the year. Shop handmade and local this Valentine’s Day at the Creative Soul of Lowell. Grab a friend and explore our historic mill building, where art is made.
The Loading Dock Gallery kicks off their second art show of the year titled “I Heart…” with a art reception at 6 pm that celebrates the work the artists put into this show. As part of the reception, you get a unique experience of speaking firsthand to some of the artists who created artwork featured in this show.
Local craft beer, Mediterranean dishes, tasty cupcakes and treats.
Our resident brewers at Navigation Brewing Company will be open at 2pm, serving up their craft beers. Come down to see what rotational crafted brews they have to offer this week. Brew’d Awakening Coffeehaus will be on hand with a coffee shop pop-up. This month’s food truck is Chez Rafiki’s with their delicious Mediterranean dishes. As a special treat this month we will be having Clyde’s Cupcakes on hand with their dessert truck, perfect for Valentine’s Day,

Open Studios isn’t just for seeing, but experiencing. Open Studios is an opportunity to get a glimpse behind the scenes of art being made. Strike a conversation, make a friend, get lost in a world of art.
