We’ve got something new brewing.
February will usher in a new business opening at Western Avenue. The main loading dock lounge area will now be home to Tiny Arms Coffee. Jon Santos and his wife, ceramic artist Kate Cutlip, are proud to bring their passion for a great cuppa to Lowell. Jon and Kate recently moved into Western Avenue Lofts with their pup Walter, Kate moved her ceramic practice, Tiny Arms Ceramics, into a studio at WA, they got married, and Jon is opening their coffee roasting business. It is clear that they love each other and what they do – and we think that is an inspiring story for February.
Starting in February you’ll be able to come into Western Avenue and purchase your coffee to go or hang out on the loading dock for a half hour. The cafe’s hours of operation will be Wednesday – Sunday 8am – 4pm. Tables will be restricted to sitting for one-half hour and then they will be sanitized. Unfortunately, at this time the rest of the buildings are still closed to the public. But you can enjoy the Loading Dock Gallery, Navigation Brewing Company, and schedule private studio visits with our community of artists.
New art show, all about the dada, and locally handcrafted brews!
While this event is virtual, The Loading Dock Gallery will be open for in-person browsing (12-6 pm) featuring works from some WA artists and other local artists. This month the Loading Dock Gallery will be hosting a show called Color Play, featuring textile artists Tarja Cockell and painter Brooke Lambert. Navigation Brewing Company will be open 4-9 pm with their handcrafted beers, brewed on-site, and new flavorful winter beers. Navigation will be hosting one of Lowell’s favorite food trucks, Empanada Dada, it’s all about the Dada! Serving up mouthwatering Cuban inspired empanadas, along with unique spins on the traditional empanada.
Studio visits by appointments.
While we currently cannot host in-person Open Studios events, most of our artists are currently booking appointments for private studio tours. These private studio tours are a safer and more intimate experience. You can book an appointment by reaching out directly to the artists of your choice. You can find a directory in our Community section.
