Artist Name: Laurie Simko

Laurie Simko is an oil painter and collage artist who explores many subjects: still lifes, portraits and the natural world. Her award-winning work is exhibited in galleries and organizations throughout New England and NYC. She is the recipient of two Mass Cultural Council Grants for two solo exhibitions featuring twenty portraits of nurses and their stories during the 2020 pandemic.

Simko grew up in the Greater Boston area in Massachusetts. She graduated from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Simko’s past and present memberships include the Arts League of Lowell, Cambridge and Concord Art Association, Copley Art Society, National Association of Women Artists in Boston and NYC, Rockport Art Association and has exhibited in many juried shows in the Greater Boston area.
