Fall is in the air and so is new art!

The momentum of art!

Our September Outdoor Art Market  was a blast. We continue to learn and pivot during these strange times bringing you a safe in-person art experience, here at the Creative Soul of Lowell. And we are having fun doing it!

Traditionally, October Open Studios is our big annual Artoberfest event with all the excitement of the upcoming holiday season. This year we are keeping the event but moving outdoors for a two-day two market event in one location – Saturday October 3rd and Sunday October 4th from noon – 4pm. You’ll find over 60 artists between two days with one market in the upper parking lot and the other in the middle parking lot.  A list of participating artists will be posted and update at the end of this post – see if your favorite is there! We guarantee you will find something that speaks to you or helps you with the anticipation of the holiday season too.

Art is the Handmaid of Human Good

We don’t have to tell you that this year has been unprecedented but we continue to look forward with hope. Artists are starting to offer classes again in their studios. Some are doing workshops online. You can always commission an artist to create something unique for you like a portrait or family photograph. When you purchase from one of our artists, you directly support local businesses and the local economy.

As a special treat on Saturday, loft resident pianist Paul Carlson will be blessing us with the sweet sounds of his classical piano. This will be a special first time performance outside on our loading dock next to the Brewery.  It promises to be a performance to remember. On Sunday the Brewery will have acoustic guitar set up under the tent.

The Miracle Providers NE will be selling pumpkins, cornstalks and flowers at the end of Western Ave off our B Mill building – they will be raising funds for their holiday gift drive.

Loading Dock Gallery & two food trucks!

While we may be outside for this event, we will have a couple of Open Studios staples. The Loading Dock Gallery we’ll be open for in-person browsing, featuring the opening reception for their New England juried show titled “Red, White, & Blue”, which includes the Sixth Annual Poetry Convergence. In this month preceding the national election, the Loading Dock Gallery is posing the question “What do the colors red, white, and blue represent to you?” Artists, using a variety of media, will be revealing what the colors evoke in them.

Since it is a two-day event, we will be having two different food truck vendors. Chez Rafiki serving up Mediterranian dishes on Saturday and on Sunday Lowell staple Gormley’s Cafe whipping up what promises satisfy your tastes buds. Our resident brewer at Navigation Brewing Company will be on hand, with their tasty brews made right here at our building! The brewery will be open 4-10 pm on Saturday and 12-5 pm on Sunday.
