Lecture : Gary Gissler – cancelled
April 4 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pmFree
A New York City artist and practicing psychoanalyst, GARY GISSLER explores both the authority and fragility of language.
His work involves cutting, transcribing, altering, blurring and re-assembling texts to create ”remarkably subtle, yet potent” paintings and works on paper. Gissler explains his work as “an inquiry in the nature of the sublime…thought, feeling, story, instinct, fear, wonder, desire, shame… all are embodied as language.”
His talk offers an inspiring overview of his work and his working process.
