New year, new art!

Kick-off the new year from the comfort of your home.

January 1st means the start of a new year but for us, it signifies the first page in a new chapter.  We are looking forward to taking what we learned from 2020 and creating engaging ways to bring you the beautiful work done inside our walls. This new chapter brings the excitement of new art from both new and old artists of our community, along with potential collaborations within the community.

Traditionally we celebrate the new year in person, but we are doing things a bit differently as we continue to navigate the pandemic. We will be using our Facebook and Instagram pages to bring you art, from the comfort of your own home – a Virtual Open Studios.

A glimpse behind the scenes.

Many of our artists will be posting content pertaining to their art throughout our January Virtual Open Studios event. Make sure you are following along in the discussions section of our Facebook event page to see everything and to ask your own questions of the artists. We also have some live demos and pre-recorded content planned. Some artists may offer discounts on purchases as they make room for new work in their studios. January can be a really great time to buy art.

Our live demos include a soapmaking demo from Eir’s Garden at 12 pm and a caricature illustration demo from Bill Bradbury at 1 pm. We’ve got plenty of other fun things planned that you don’t want to miss!

Loading Dock Gallery, a new food truck, and winter brews at Navigation!

While this event is virtual, The Loading Dock Gallery will be open for in-person browsing (12-5:30 pm) featuring works from some WA artists and other local artists. Navigation Brewing Company will be open 4-9 pm with their handcrafted beers, brewed on-site, and new flavorful winter beers. Navigation will also be unveiling a (new to Lowell) food truck with a Latin American flavor, Tres Latinas. Three Venezuelan friends with the passion to share their love for Authentic Latin food.

Studio visits by appointments.

While we currently cannot host in-person Open Studios events, most of our artists are currently booking appointments for private studio tours. These private studio tours are a safer and more intimate experience. You can book an appointment by reaching out directly to the artists of your choice. You can find a directory in our Community section.
