There is often a narrative which weaves its way through my work, during and after the art making process. Symbolism and meaning evolve, along with the adventure of working with various materials. The resulting paintings, monotypes and mixed media compositions are as diverse as the mediums I use. Since my work regularly moves between expressions of realism, surrealism and abstraction, the portfolio is varied.

My latest pieces are mosaics of ceramic tiles. Based upon the spatial ordering in recent paintings and prints, which show a tendency toward geometric components, this current transition into mosaics is a natural trajectory. Broken and cut pieces bring to life images of the natural world, which include a snow covered forest, “Meant for You”, a mute swan in “At Home on Ice” and people enjoying music and movement in “Spinning”.

Complete Your Own Unique Mosaic in Just 5 Sessions!

Mosaic Sessions are recurring meetups which introduce participants to ceramic mosaics. They are facilitated by Christine Soeltz, artist and educator in Studio 253 @ Western Avenue Studios, Lowell, MA.

Low Introductory Cost: 5 visits at 2 hrs each includes materials: $130. Currently there is availability for Tuesdays 10:30-12:30, Wednesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:30pm and 6:30-8:30pm. Starting date is yours to choose.

There is always a chance another session can be added if these times do not work for your schedule.
