I believe that access to art experiences should be easy for everyone, and so for many years I ran a walk-in art studio in Arlington. Now I teach classes in sand painting, collage, and decoupage.

In my own art I use colored sand and papers of all types, along with fabric and found objects. Painting with sand –which I think of as a way to connect to the earth–is tactile and soothing. People of all ages and abilities can use sand painting as a way to achieve calm in the midst of chaos.

My background in offset and letterpress printing has given me a passion for machines and for industrial settings like we have here in the Western Ave Studios. Through my work as an arts entrepreneur and community advocate I have an abiding love for small businesses and appreciate how art can help local communities thrive.

My business, Creative Adventures, offers sand painting skits and decoupage papers to art enthusiasts, and bulk supplies and kits to stores and studios.
