Artist Name: Denise Rainis

 

My interests are varied and I have been influenced by many genres and artists. Currently, the subjects of my paintings are inspired by the humbling colors and beauty of nature, the ever-changing weather and seasons of New England, and the occasional dramatic light that allows transcendence from an ordinary scene to one of extraordinary and breathtaking beauty. I also love to paint on non-traditional canvases including birch bark, stone, and glass.

My first love is pastel, but I have recently branched into watercolor, oil, and mixed media and I am intrigued by the endless possibilities in all mediums.
