Artist Name: Gwen Cory

Painting for me is freedom. My creative process is about observing nature and intuitively painting expressive, bold, and moving colorscapes. Sometimes I like to start with very little reference in mind, play with color, paint thickness, shape relationships and watch my paintings spontaneously evolve. Other times, I take photographs and visualize what I want to paint. My paintings reflect love of and concern for the environment. I live in the Boston area and paint in my fourth floor studio here at Western Avenue Studios. I enjoy being part of this large diverse artist community.
