Artist Name: Nan Hockenbury

As a young learner I was captivated by the colorful illustrations and bold black sentences in my elementary school reader Dick, Jane, and Sally. The spare white pages only enhanced my desire to color and draw instead of doing schoolwork. I’m sure this is the foundation of my becoming an artist.

Now I use paint to picture narratives based on creation myths, different opinions of history, and my own stories or point of view.
