Open Studios, with a hint of an Outdoor Art Market
Start your holiday weekend with us.
September brings new energy into artists’ work routines. We squeeze in the last bits of summer sunlight, and incorporate what the season has taught us into our works. Capturing the process of making art is something that is becoming a requirement, but it does not compare to witnessing the magic of an artist creating in person. By walking our halls you get to watch some of our artists working in their open studios and connect with them.
Please join us and experience a little bit of magic this Saturday September 3rd from noon until 5 pm – we look forward to seeing you!
If you plan to join us, we do not require guests to wear masks/face coverings while inside Western Avenue, but we do recommend bringing one in case a specific studio or business requires it within their space.
Immersive Installation and Gallery Shows
This month features Spin: Installation Process and Methodology an exhibition by Karen Christians showing in the Loading Dock Gallery . View artifacts and look behind the scenes of creating jewelry castings from spin casting molds on our 5th floor mini gallery, near studio 597.
Check out the Western Avenue Lofts gallery shows:
Lofts Lobby Rotating Gallery – showcasing twenty-two loft artists’ works – located on the first floor by the main entrance.
Re-opening of the Storage Closet Gallery : Vibrational Portfolio, a series of compressed sculptures by Sylv Litz– located on the second floor near loft 204.
Empanada Dada!
Empanada Dada is a local food truck specializing in Empanadas. One of the most practical meals, perfect to eat on the go while looking at art and/or socializing.
Our resident coffee shop and roaster, Tiny Arms Coffee, is open from 9am-4pm, it gives you the flexibility to start your visit early if you would like to avoid crowds.
The Summer Open Studios festivities continue on Navigation Brewing Company’s outdoor patio. Some of their regular offerings are Pale Ales, IPAs, and Milk Scouts. The brewery will be open from 4pm until 10pm.
