Welcome back!

To say we have missed you, would be an understatement.

Seriously.  We have missed you all! Since our last Outdoor Art Market in December, we have been bringing you art virtually through a series of Virtual Open Studios events using our Facebook page. While this has been a great way to bring you art during the cold winter months, we have missed seeing your faces and hearing your excitement as you enjoy conversations with our artists.

Outdoor Art Markets allow us to bring you art in a safe and fun environment – without walking up and down five flights of stairs! These markets were well received by everyone, and the artists especially enjoyed them. With the official start of spring and Phase 4 of Massachusett’s reopening plan well underway, we are happy to announce the return of our in-person Outdoor Art Markets. Please join us for our traditional First Saturday event, April 3rd, from 12-4 pm. Check out our Facebook event page for more details. We are anticipating this Outdoor Art Market will consist of 40+ vendors from our artist community, spread across our Lofts west parking lot. We promise you will see a huge variety of art mediums at our market, from the traditional to the not so traditional.

Coffee and art, a perfect combo.

Coffee and art are two things that go well together, like peanut butter and jelly. This market will be the first time we host an event with the latest addition to Western Avenue being open, Tiny Arms Coffee. They’ll be serving delicious coffee drinks, using imported coffee beans roasted on-site – from their espresso drinks to their pour-over drip coffee and sweet lattes that come with their own creative latte art. If you’re not much a coffee drinker, don’t worry; they have you covered with an assortment of tea drinks. You can find Tiny Arms Coffee in the main loading dock lounge area, across from the Loading Dock Gallery. So please grab a cup to go and explore the wonderful art our artists have been working on during the winter months.

Can’t wait till this market to try the new coffee shop? Their grand opening is March 26th, at 8 am. Their hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 8 am to 3 pm.

Invocation of Place, brews, and empanadas!

The Loading Dock Gallery  kicks off their Invocation of Place art show, featuring Western Avenue artist Priscilla Levesque, who paints landscapes in the pointillist style. This show also features Noel Soucy, a former WA artist, who creates abstract paintings using acrylics and alcohol inks. The gallery will be open for in-person browsing.

We can’t kick off our Outdoor Art Markets without a Lowell favorite, the Empanada Dada food truck, featuring their savory signature empanadas. Empanada’s are the perfect hand food to walk around with as you dive into the arts. Stay afterward, as Navigation Brewing Company opens 4-10 pm. Navigation has some great spring beers on tap, and their outdoor patio is now open!
